Average of Evaluation Criteria:
The Master of Science with thesis program provides students with an expertise in current and emerging issues in the field of Architecture. Organized through theoretical courses and supported with seminars by guests and field studies, the education aims to engender an intellectual, ethical and supportive learning and collegial environment that foregrounds information exchange between scholars and to cultivate research-based design approaches that embrace state-of-the-art techniques and technologies across related disciplines. Students are expected to take part in individual and collective research projects that concentrate on social, environmental and technological issues of contemporary society, and on their effects on built environments in different scales.
The programme with thesis includes four compulsory courses, four elective courses and the writing of a thesis. Master of Science in Architecture (MSc in Arch) is awarded to students who have scored Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses (120 ECTS).
The graduates of the program become better equipped with knowledge and competence in a certain subject. This provides students a better employment opportunity than graduates of the undergraduate degree. Students have a wide range of opportunities to choose from the private or the public sector. The former includes various governmental offices, while the latter provides a wider range including construction companies, design offices, construction sites or producers and marketers of building materials. The program also provides competence in specific aspects of architecture, ability to carry out research and to develop career opportunities in academic environments.
