The effective use of resources in the manufacturing and service sector has become increasingly important over the years. Coupled with the pressure caused by rapidly changing market conditions, companies now look to managers to take instant and reliable decisions, as an important criteria for success. Decision makers are routinely expected to take strategic and operational decisions, based on the results gained from analysing significant large amounts of data, and as a result of the different analysing methods used. With this in mind, the Masters programme in Industrial Engineering has been opened, to equip professionals and academics with the sector knowledge and essential skills necessary to enable them to create new solutions, take effective decisions and implement successful outcomes in the industrial engineering context. The programme is aimed at engineering graduates. Through scientific research students gain information, assess and interpret the results, and draw up new informative conclusions. Within the scope of this programme, the existing operating systems and administrative processes are enhanced with new knowledge, skills and professionalism in the manufacturing and service sectors. In this way, industrial engineers can follow the latest developments, gain new knowledge and skills, and create new and distinctive solutions.
Second Cycle, Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering is awarded to students who have scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses (120 ECTS)
The globalization of the world economy has been increasing customer expectations, creating demand for goods and services with better quality at affordable prices. Hence, manufacturing and service companies have started to seek for human resources with engineering and managerial skills. Industrial Engineering, as a discipline emerging from this point of view, contributes to production and service systems using analytical problem solving techniques, information technologies, and certain social sciences. In the frame of these references, Industrial Engineering’s scope of research and education is to search the ways of increasing quality and productivity by using scarce resources effectively. So, it provides opportunities for good positions in manufacturing industries, health services, communication, food sector, education, logistics, banks, consulting firms, utility companies, public firms, even planning parts of social projects.
