The aim of this Masters programme is to enable students to specialise in their selected subject within the field of Public Law. Students may choose from a wide range of subjects, and on graduation, will have gained an effective in-depth education in public law. The programme aims to provide students with a comprehensive approach to current public law, and is implemented with a comprehensive curriculum, which is relevant for those who wish to gain expertise and carry out research within the discipline. Instruction is provided by qualified academics, who are experts in their field. The main purpose of the programme is to share expertise with students and provide graduates with the ability to analyse current issues in public law, create added value and new career opportunities. In addition, the programme provides information on international law and current developments in the field, thus building on the knowledge already acquired at bachelor level.
LLM Degree in Law is awarded to students who have achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 2.70/4.00 and have completed all of the courses in the program with grades of C+ and above. Defending Master’s thesis successfully is a must for graduation.
A person with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree has several opportunities in various undertakings in the Government Sector. Many graduates will find employment with the Ministry of Justice as judges or prosecutors. Many others will go on to work as lawyers in private practice. Students who do not wish to practice law will find that a law degree is excellent preparation for a wide variety of careers in business, government and non-governmental organizations. Students who wish to pursue an academic career may enroll in PhD programs at Turkish or foreign universities.
